Flywheel
The flywheel is an important part of a vehicle’s engine transmission system. Located at the engine outlet, it takes on the appearance of a disc and plays various roles such as starting the engine, transmitting the rotational movement, managing engine jerks and the rotation cycle and finally operating the crankshaft sensor which determines the engine speed.
New vehicles can be equipped with dual mass flywheels. Until now, these were mainly reserved for diesel engines, but they have now been extended to other types of engines. The dual mass flywheel is much lighter than previous flywheel systems and filters out engine vibrations, thus increasing reliability.
